In keeping with the aims of AMVETS constitution to promote peace and good will among nations, and to perpetuate the associations of all veterans, and to dedicate ourselves to the cause of mutual assistance, AMVETS Post 86 may enter into reciprocal agreements with other veterans organizations of the United States and foreign allied countries and shall be referred to as Brotherhood Units. In August 2000, AMVETS Post 86 proudly became a Brotherhood Unit with Branch 519 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Coboconk, Ontario, Canada. A delegation of AMVETS Post 86 members traveled to Coboconk and participated in a flag exchange ceremony with our fellow veterans there.
